Madison and I went shopping at Target and Hobby Lobby today. I had to get things we needed like baby wipes and milk. But, I did get one fun item for myself. I got one of those neat clutch wallets. It was on sale for $10.00 (regular price is $14.99). I can't wait to organize it and put all my goodies in it! :O)
My husband and I get a month allowance and this month we put some allowance money toward books. JR bought a couple photography books, a bird book, and a tree book. He also bought a camera for taking professional quality pictures (he has been saving up for this one). This is his new hobby :O) Woodworking has been put on hold until we can buy more tools. He is now saving up for a new camera lense. It might take a few months. Just one lense can cost hundreds. Maybe by Christmas he will get it!
I picked out these 2 books below. I actually haven't had a chance to sit down a flip through them just yet, because I have a few magazines to finish. Hopefully this afternoon or tomorrow!
I have been working on a few projects today (I will post pics soon) I also didn't forget about that video of Madison walking!! I need to cook dinner than we are off to the drive in to see District 9 and the Perfect Getaway! We haven't been to the drive in all summer- can't wait! We decided last minute to go, we were having a lazy/ catch up day, but the weather is too nice to not get out and enjoy some fresh air and movies.
We are very thankful for this wonderful summer. It is still not over.... But, so far we have been able to visit family and friends in Maine, lots of fun weekend adventures at parks, zoos and festivals. Fun BBQ's with friends. JR made a corn hole game- so much fun! Madison grew a few teeth, crawled her way through summer and is now walking- I have a video to post soon. Madison turned ONE! We went to Long Island to see my cousin Krista get married and visit with family, went to the ocean, and I am sure I am missing some other details. We have had so much fun this summer. It went by way too quick as usual. We did get to do some nice landscaping and built a patio this past spring and summer. I am so thankful our garden took off and is doing great. I have been saving tomatoes for sauce this fall/ winter. Nothing is better than nice home grown fresh veggies!
Boil the tomatoes for 30 seconds
Put them in ice water The skin just peels right off Remove all the insides and seeds Rinse Bag and freeze
We had a wonderful time at the park! The weather looked questionable, but the rain held off. Here is a great video of the breaking of the Pinata. Steve made it look so easy! I think Janice weakened it for him! :O) Check out more pictures on facebook.
On Tuesday we met with a new photographer at a local park. She is just starting out and is super reasonable.
If any friends in the area are interested in taking some picture with her, let me know and I will email you here info. We were just going to take some cute pictures of Madison, but ended up doing some family shots too. Which is nice, because all 3 of us in 1 picture is rare for us to take.
