Vacation for a week

I am taking a blogging vacation. My mom will be visiting. We have lots of shopping, zoos, parks, and fesitvals to do and see! I will be back next week!! Ciao!

New Wall Decor!

I found this coral on ebay and the frame at Walmart. It was a bit raised so the coral fit perfect once I took out the matte. I just hot glued burlap to the back, put a dot of hot glue on the coral so it would stay in place, and Volia!

Actopus to Zelephant

I wanted to do something like this

or like this

I found the cute alphabet cards here I am hoping to do the letter wall in our next home. I love that! The cards took up less wall space. I hung them with scrapbook glue dots. If you'd like to order some don't forget to check out Retail Me Not for codes! I found a 10% off code. My order came to around $14 (shipping was just as much as the card) But, for cute wall art that still isn't bad. I checked Micheals and Hobby Lobby and they didn't have the cards, so I had to pay shipping. I checked a few other places online, but with the 10% code Scrapbook.com was still cheaper.

I usually try and avoid Walmart. It is too busy, lines are long, and I buy things I don't really need. I am more of a Target gal.

Well, Madison and I were on the hunt for a certain sized frame. I knew Walmart had to have something close to what I was looking for without breaking the bank, so off to Wally World we went. I did find the frame. I also found Halloween candy, a candle, and some really cute shirts.

I usually hate their clothes and haven't shopped in the clothing section for years. They have a new organic section and the shirts are super soft and super duper affordable. I hardly ever pay full price for clothes. I usually head for the clearance section in Target, Old Navy and online Gap. My favorite is outlet Malls. For these shirts I had no problem paying full price.

These were the organic shirts- $8 a piece.

This cute cardigan was only $12. I am going back for a black one.

It's Official!

I am kinda going through a cooking rut. I just throw thing together that we have in the fridge and call it good. I used to have a menu and plan everything out, but over the summer I have gotten out of that habit. I just go for the quick and easy which usually consists of a chicken meal with a veggie and salad, breakfast- I love eating breakfast for dinner! I make eggs, home fries, and bacon. If I am being super lazy I head for the frozen pizza. If I am lucky JR has a meat to grill and I just have to worry about the sides. Which lately is a salad with romaine lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, cranberries, walnuts, cottage cheese, grapes, and shredding cheese. Fresh broccoli, sweet potatoes or corn on the cob are my my go to veggies these days. If I am super lucky, I catch JR making dinner on some Tuesdays or Thursdays when I don't get out of zumba until 5:30.

Well, Fall is here and winter is just around the corner. I can start using my crock pot again. It kinda gets put on top of the fridge during the summer. I used it a couple of times, but for the most part we do lots of grilling and lite dinners in the summer. I love chili it is one of my favorite crock pot meals. I am looking forward to finding new and yummy crock pot recipes online.

I am also going to be better about planing dinners. As of last week Friday is officially home made pizza day! I hope to get in the habit of starting to post dinners. Be on the look out for something Yummy!

Big Thank you to my sis in law Mrs Nikkie and my mom for participating in my Can you Guess? post. Yeah, I know who loves me now! LOL!

It turns out you were both right on the first one! Good job!

It is a sunflower!

And Nikkie, you were right on the second one! It is a flower. It is called Red Velvet. They are so pretty. You can see them in the picture below, under the sunflower in the hanging basket.

"Love is passion, obsession, someone you can't live without... Fall head over heels. I say find someone you can love like crazy and who'll love you the same way back... Because the truth is, there is no sense living your life without this. To make the journey and not fall deeply in love - well, you haven't lived a life at all. You have to try. Because if you haven't tried, you haven't lived."
-William Parrish

What a great feeling it is.

Uncle Dan!

We had a wonderful little visit with our brother in law last weekend. We hope to see him again over Columbus weekend and maybe even over Thanksgiving if he can't go home during the holiday. Madison has met the whole entire family now (Dan was in Iraq when Madison was born and when we visited Nikkie, Maria and Conner). We have a small family, but it is wonderful. Madison was super excited to meet you!! Good luck in your training school!

Rocky and Jackson were very excited too.

Can you guess what these are?

Answers next week. I know you can't wait to find out! :O)

I think this is a keeper!

Last night we watched ABC's new Thursday show FlashForward at 8pm . I found a new show to add to our Thursday nights. That is good since I have to wait until next year for LOST to return from its way to long vacation. At least we know what all those LOST wrighters have been up to while LOST was on hiatus. They were making a whole new show!! I personally wish they would finish the first one they started. What the heck are those people doing on the island!? I already know this show is going to have me wound around its little finger just like LOST. Blah!!! I already know I am going to be so disappointed at the end of the season when we have no answers and then have to wait months until some more action. I love it though. It is like candy, you just can't forget about it. You will wait months and months without having a taste, but once you do again- its all good. So far this show is a keeper in my book and I can't wait for some more!

FlashForward was on early enough so we could watch our TIVO recording of the office- commercial free. :O)

If you missed it and want to check it out you can watch the first episode here.

Croc Nanook Women's Shoes- $13.49 plus FREE Shipping!

Hurry up, they are selling quick! Size up! The faux-fur lining in these ballerina flats make them run a bit small. For the best fit, they recommend ordering a size up.

I think these are one of the cutest crocs I have seen. I have never been a big fan of crocs. Although they are super comfortable, I used to wear the waterproof closed toe ones every day while I was dental assisting. They weren't pretty, but at least I never had sore feet.

If the link doesn't work, search for nanook on the croc site, and don't forget to use the code customerloyalty09 for 10% off and free shipping!!

Thanks, Mama Cheaps!

Young House Love- Happy 2 year blogiversary!

I just wanted to share a blog I came across while surfing The Nest. It is called Young House Love and it is fabulous. I can spend house reading it. Go ahead and click on the words, I am sure you will love it too! Sherry and John have some great decorating tips, great tips on how to me more green and earth friendly, great DIY (do it yourself tips- check out their how to section), and they have a very cute furbaby named Burger.

They also have a little shop. I just ordered a Botanical Print . I have the perfect place for it, I can't wait to hang it.

It is their 2 year blogiversary. They are celebrating by giving one lucky reader a 500 gift card to Lowes. Go send them some love and enter their give a way! I know you will love their blog as much as I do!!

We Are Back!

We'll kinda. We should be getting our Laptop cord in the mail today. So I don't have any cute Madison pictures to post for you. I know you are disappointed!! :O)

On another note, JR is feeling really good, and can see almost good enough to drive!! The first few days he said he wishes he was dead. (For those of you that don't know- JR had PRK eye surgery- kinda like lasik). We have not had a chance to watch Season 3 of Dexter- Boo Hoo! Hopefully this week sometime.

Heroes is on tonight!! 2 hour season premier!! YAY!! We are going to tivo it and watch it tomorrow without commercials.

Our brother in law Dan is visiting for a couple of days. He is going to a training class, and we are on the way. He will be the fist one to try out our comfy new guest room bed . We scored from a very good IKEA sale. It is very comfy. I thing it was only $199. We hope for safe travels for him. Madison is very excited to meet you!!!

To Whom It May Concern

JR's eye surgery went well. Everything looked great at his follow up today. He is still sore, and can't look at the light. He also can't watch tv, read or play video games. He didn't get much sleep last night. Hopefully he will feel a bit better tomorrow. We will just be sticking around the house tomorrow, so if anyone would like to call and chat with JR I am sure he'd love to hear from you. At least he can talk and I am sure he is getting very board. Maybe Madison and I will read him a book tomorrow.

The melting pot was fantastic. I will be going back with JR. I went will a wonderful group of ladies and we ate way too much cheese and chocolate fondue. It was so worth the extra working out tomorrow.

I will be MIA for a bit. Our laptop charger cord broke. The itouch bothers my wrist when I use it too much. I jump on to check my email, but that's about it. If anything exciting happens I will jump on the desktop computer. I just prefer to blog on the laptop and all my pictures are on that one.

I hope everyone has a great weekend! Hopefully we will get our laptop charger ordered soon. JR is better with electronics, so as soon as he is feeling better he can order the right one. We'll be back to blogging in a week or so.

It is time

We decided to sell our entertainment center and get a new one. It worked great in our old home, but we just can't make it work in our new one. We have a fireplace that takes up one wall, sliding glass doors on the other and on the free wall we have our couch. We have just been using the center piece to put our t.v on in the corner. The other pieces have been in the garage in storage for the past year. We actually just moved them into the spare room to make room in the garage. So instead of it just sitting in the spare room, we are selling it and ordered a t.v stand that is better for us.

Old TV Stand- Anyone want to buy a entertainment center?

This Week

Lots of Fun going on this week!

Today- Fun with Madison this afternoon. I hope to sneek in a walk and do a few things around the house.

This afternoon- Meeting a couple of friends for Zumba and Belly Dancing.

Wednesday - JR has his PRK surgery. I am a bit jealous he will not need glasses or contacts anymore. It is free because he is active duty military. So I will be taking him and making sure he gets lots of rest, care and love over the next few days.

Thursday- Girls Night Out at the Melting Pot!!!

Friday- Hopefully JR is feeling good from his surgery. Hopefully we will have a Dexter marathon :O) I am hooked on that show, we are on the 3rd season. Zumba in the afternoon.

Saturday- Madison will be playing with her buddy Connor. It is his Mommy's Birthday! We are watching Connor so Shersti and Matt can enjoy a nice dinner and movie. Good luck to Shersti, Liesel, and Eric during the Air Force Marathon!

Sunday- Maybe Disney on Ice. We will see how JR is doing.

Anyone doing anything fun and exciting this week??

IKEA Goodies!

I received the new 2010 IKEA catalog in the mail a few weeks ago and had some things in mind for my wish list.

We were suppose to go to IKEA over Labor Day weekend, but were too tired after checking out the new outlet mall. JR was is a fantastic mood when he got home from work today (he usually is is a good mood) but, this was a particular good mood. He hates IKEA, but said to me "Hey lets go to IKEA this afternoon". Wow, did I hear that right? So of course I jumped right on that opportunity. This was the third or forth time we have been there. I always spot new things when I go. IKEA is kinda like a big shopping amusement park. They have tons and tons of little attractions "rooms" set up. It is fantastic for getting ideas and window shopping. It is a different shopping experience, not a great place for people that like to go in and get out like JR. The store is one big maze where you have to follow these arrows and it takes you around the store- the whole store. You make your list of what you want or grab things you like on the way. Then if you want any big items you pick them up in the ware house at the end of the maze. Ah, I was in shopping heaven. I love my husband, I will have to make sure I give you extra kisses tonight :O)

Here are my goodies!
I love IKEA napkins, everytime I go I usually grab 3 packs. They are extra thick and I usually tear one in half and split it between me and JR.

Pillow cases for the couch pillows

Candles for the Lantern

Little vase. It looks very West Elm to me. I LOVE it!

This mirror was on my desktop wish list. I was keeping my out for one that was cheaper than $200. I had no clue I would find one at IKEA.

Mosaic mirror- Only $21.00! Whoot hoo!

Rocky being silly

Cute little table and chairs for Madison. I am going to paint it. Not sure yet what color.
