Weekend Review

We had a very fun and busy weekend! Two game nights, church, a little yard work, JR started our veggies (in a little green house), I did a little no sew project, JR installed our new screen door for the back sliding glass doors. I look forward to having lots of fresh air now!! (Our old door broke last summer/fall). We also had a special visitor on Sunday.

Grandpa Nolan and Madison
Bathroom sneak peek! After photos coming soon!! The no sew tape is my new best friend!! I can't wait to do another project with it!! Here is the curtain that I made out of the old shower curtain that I shrunk.

Using this magically craft store item!! It was super easy too!

The Best Sippy in Our Home

We Madison has tried lots of different sippys in the past year (she started trying them out at around 6 months).

Madison a couple of months ago.
I have to say out of all the ones we Madison tried, I have to say this is my favorite. I like them because they......

#1- Don't leak (you have to make sure the hard plastic insert is on well) Once it fell out of the month piece and it did leak, but that was my fault).

#2- are BPA Free

#3- are Dishwasher safe

#4- are Super Cheap! I think they were $1.19 at Walmart.

These are the hard plastic inserts (on the left) that I was talking about above. As long as you push it in all the way they don't leak.
One of my old favorites was this one...... and this one.......
But, they leak after a while. Plus they are much more expensive then my new favorite. They use a soft plastic insert. It is hard to see from the picture, but they have a little slit in them and for some reason after normal use they started leaking.
I did buy a replacement pack, and that seemed to solve the problem. But, I don't want to have to buy them every couple of months. Especially since I can buy a couple of my new favorites for the same price as the replacement packs.
In the past week I have thrown away 3 of these type. I really liked these for when Madison was little because of the great grippy handles, but she chewed through the rubber mouth piece. I'd recommend these for a little one just starting out, but keep an eye on them after about a year of normal use.
Happy weekend everyone!!! Do something fun!!!! :O)

Today: The Return of the Winter Weather

Yesterday: The day I put away the gloves and scarves :O) Of course it was going to snow again!! LOL!!

Lots of schools are delayed and some even cancelled. Lucky ducks!! Our driveway is an ice skating rink. I had to skate my way down to put out the recycling and trash.

Just last weekend and the week before we enjoyed sitting outside in just a t-shirt.

Welcome back Winter weather, but please let Spring return ASAP!!

Updates: JR's New Color and Bird Feeder

New Yellow bling for Spring!

This past week JR build a new bird feeder. The old one broke from a large possum that jumped on it. Right before I took this picture there was a beautiful blue bird eating, but all you get to see now is this guy. We learned that you can put Vaseline on the bottom of the pole to keep critters off. We might try that this weekend.

*The Lettered Cottage* Mantel Mania

I have been featured on one of my favorite blogs, The Lettered Cottage. Layla was putting together some mantel pictures for a mantel mania post. She asked her readers if they have any mantel inspiration pictures to send them her way, and she wound up using ours along with other beautiful pictures from readers in her post.
I am so honored to be a part of her Mantel Mania post. If you missed her Mantel post you can see the introduction and Layla's mantel HERE. Part 1 can be found HERE, and part 2 can be found HERE. I actually haven't had a chance to read all of part 2 yet, I am looking forward to learning some great tips and looking at inspiration pictures from other readers and seeing before and after pictures.

Layla also just finished her first
ebook called Creating an Inspired Home.

I bought it and read it in one sitting. Layla and her husband Kevin are working on another book now. I can't wait to find out what that one will be about!!

Happy Birthday To My Wonderful Husband!!

I Love You Babe!! I hope you are having a wonderful day!!! XOXO

Hello Easter Bunny!!

I took Madison to see the Easter Bunny yesterday and we didn't even have to wait in line!! Madison didn't want to sit on his lap so she sat on mine lol!! At least she wore her bunny ears.

I should of know things weren't going to go as planned since this is how the morning kinda went..............

JR Braces Update

JR's braces are doing OK. They keep breaking for some reason :O) JR blamed it on the cucumber I made him eat :O) At least once a week he either breaks a wire or pops off a bracket. In the 2 1/2 years I wore braces I only broke them once :O) Poor JR!! :o) He is getting used to them though and picked Red for his latest color. A couple of weeks ago the tooth fairy came because JR had his baby tooth extracted. I will spare you the baby tooth picture :O)

The Easter Bunny is coming to town soon!!

Madison hasn't visited the Easter bunny yet this year! When we went to get her picture with Santa they said they weren't doing pictures anymore (the same company does the Easter bunny pics too) So I am not sure if the mall has a rabbit or not. I will have to look into it, because Easter is around the corner!!

Remember last year?

Madison will get her first Easter basket this year!! Here is a sneak peek at what the Easter bunny is giving our little Chicky this year.

And I bought 9 black frames from Micheal's Craft Store. They had a sale buy one get one free. I used my 40% off coupon on the 9th frame.

After a little decision making, tracing, cutting, and measuring....... Ta Da!! I made this little wall art display.
